VLADIKAVKAZ, June 18 – RIA "Dagestan". Vladikavkaz and Makhachkala have formalized their partnership in sports and tourism with a new cooperation agreement signed in the North Ossetian capital. The pact between Vladikavkaz's Committee for Youth Policy, Physical Culture and Sports and Makhachkala's Sports and Tourism Department aims to foster joint athletic projects and exchange professional experience.
As to the Deputy Head of Vladikavkaz Administration Madina Khodova, the agreement covers real projects and is not just a formal document. Committee Chairman Zaur Ailarov highlighted the Ossetian side's keen interest in adopting Makhachkala's successful practices in developing mass and team sports. In turn, Murad Mirzagadzhiev, Head of Makhachkala Department, emphasized the personal commitment of Mayor Dzhambulat Salavov to advancing sports and fostering interregional connections. T
he meeting was deemed highly symbolic, coinciding with the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Notably, this marks the first agreement of its kind between the sports departments of the two North Caucasian capitals, with the inaugural joint sporting events already scheduled to take place in both cities later this year.
