National Library of Dagestan Reopens After Major Renovation

MAKHACHKALA, June 16 – RIA "Dagestan". A large-scale overhaul has been completed at the National Library of the Republic of Dagestan, carried out as part of the "Family" national project. The renovated cultural institution has been personally inspected by Zarema Butaeva, Acting Minister of Culture of Dagestan.

During the renovation work, the premises of the ground floor and the library's storage facilities were completely refurbished. Builders carried out interior finishing work, replaced worn-out flooring, windows, and doors and modernized the electrical wiring, lighting fixtures and internal heating system communications.

As noted, many offices and the storage facility had not seen repairs since the institution first opened. The premises have now become significantly brighter, more modern and more functional, providing proper conditions for preserving the extensive book collection, which numbers over 800,000 publications, including around a thousand rare editions.

Acting Minister Zarema Butaeva, accompanied by library director Ali Aliyev, inspected the renovated reading rooms, book storage and service areas. She spoke with the staff, discussing working conditions, the quality of library services and plans for the institution's further development.
